Rill

Rill MCP

Give your agent the replay.

Connect your Rill workspace to ChatGPT or a compatible MCP client. Find a recording, ask what happened, or give Rill a browser task and get a replay back.

  • Connect with a Free Rill account.
  • Review existing recordings without using run credits.

Things to ask Rill

Start with a real browser flow.

Review a recording

Find a recording by name, then inspect the moments and browser details it captured.

Find my latest checkout recording. What happened after the Checkout click? Cite the recording and relevant timestamps.

Draft a bug report

Turn captured steps and errors into a draft you can review and paste into your tracker.

Draft a bug report from my latest checkout recording. Include the observed steps, expected behavior and timestamp links.

Run a browser task

Send Rill to a public website and get a recording of what happened. Each task uses one run credit.

Record a browser task on my public site. Open the pricing page and find the monthly plan. Stop before signing up.

Connection guide

Connect your workspace.

Sign into the Rill account with the recordings you want to use, then review the permissions your client requests.

  1. Add Rill to your client

In ChatGPT, install the Rill plugin. For other compatible clients, add this URL as a remote Streamable HTTP server.

    https://userill.dev/api/plugin/mcp

Other clients need OAuth with PKCE, dynamic client registration and an HTTPS callback. Request recordings:read and use the server URL as the OAuth resource. For browser tasks, also request recordings:create.

  2. Approve the connection

Follow the browser prompt to sign in and approve access. You can review or disconnect clients under Plugins in Rill Settings.

  3. Try a read-only request

Select Rill in your client and try this with a recording in your workspace.

Find my latest Rill recording and give me the link.

MCP questions

What can a connected client see?

It can read recordings and available diagnostics in the Rill workspace you connect. With separate permission to create recordings, the client can also request hosted browser tasks. Review permissions in Rill Settings.

Where do I watch the recording?

ChatGPT can show playback beside the conversation. In other clients, use the recording link to watch in Rill. The evidence your agent can inspect depends on what was captured and what its client supports.

How do I use Rill with localhost or my own Chrome tab?

Use Rill for Chrome to record the tab you already have open, or set up the Rill skill to capture the browser your coding agent operates. Hosted browser tasks reach publicly accessible sites.

Do I need a paid plan?

You can connect with a Free account. Reading an existing recording uses no run credits. Each hosted task uses a run credit from your account. See plan limits.

What if my client won’t connect?

Check the full server URL and your client’s OAuth support. If it only accepts a localhost callback or requires a client secret, use the ChatGPT plugin for MCP or the Rill skill for recording with a coding agent.

One recording is enough
