The recording walkthrough
Record what Freebuff changed.
Ask Freebuff to try the signup, checkout, or page it just changed. Rill records what happens, so you can watch it back and share it with your team.
Watch it back. Share the link. See for yourself.

Replay the steps. See what happened.
See an item go into the cart, then follow it to checkout. A short recording makes each step easy to review.

Open your project in Freebuff and tell it what you’d like to try. Copy the message below to ask for a recording.
Try the part of the app we just changed. Record it with Rill so I can watch what happened.

Use Rill to record a browser check of the flow we just changed in this Freebuff project. Read and follow https://userill.dev/skill.md. Set up the required tools using this environment's approval rules. Use the app URL, test data, steps and expected result from our current task. If the target is unclear, ask me which flow to check. Use the existing app setup and ask before changing application code. Check that recording is supported here. Start Rill and attach your browser automation to the browser Rill provides. Run the agreed steps in that browser. Use test data and avoid sensitive screens. Ask before submitting payments, deleting data or taking other consequential actions. Reuse my existing Rill connection. If I am not connected, follow the skill's anonymous recording and approval rules. Before capture, explain that the recording uploads to Rill and anyone with its link can view it. Stop recording and wait until it is ready. Verify playback and inspect the captured console and network evidence. Return the playable share link and its expiry, the tested version if available, the steps checked, the expected and observed results, and any failures or checks left unverified. If recording or playback fails, report the problem and the next recovery step.
Local recording supports macOS and Linux. You’ll need Node.js 22+, Chrome or Chromium, a supported credential store, and browser automation that can connect to Rill’s browser. Windows local recording is unsupported. Hosted Freebuff workspaces have not been verified.
Tested October 7, 2026: Freebuff CLI on macOS used an existing Rill account to record a local shop’s cart and checkout check. We verified the ready recording and playback. First-time anonymous setup, Freebuff Desktop, Linux, and hosted workspaces were not exercised in that run.
From change to recording
A check you can come back to.
Tell Freebuff what should happen.
Be specific: “Open the local shop and add one item. Confirm the cart shows one item, then open checkout and check the order summary. Stop before placing the order.” Use test data.
Freebuff CLI starts with npm install -g freebuff, then cd your-project and freebuff. In Desktop, open the project workspace. Keep Rill setup in the same project and agent session. Freebuff Desktop · Official CLI guide
Record the browser check.
Freebuff tries the steps you asked for. Rill makes a recording you can watch afterward.
If Freebuff cannot connect to Rill’s browser, resolve that before continuing. The check must run in the recorded browser. Follow the CLI guide for a temporary Playwright setup that keeps recording tools separate from your app.
Watch the result.
Open the recording and see how your app behaved. Freebuff tells you what worked, what didn’t, and what it couldn’t check.
If the recording is still processing, keep its ID and ask Freebuff to check its status. Wait until you can play it. If a step fails, keep the recording and ask the agent to explain the failure.
Check the fix again.
Found a problem? Ask Freebuff to fix it, then record the same steps again. Share both recordings so your team can see the difference.
Ask Freebuff to include the tested version, expected result, actual result, and anything it could not check. The recording covers only the steps you ran. To keep an anonymous recording, connect your Rill account before the link expires and approve the connection yourself.
